Chickering & Reisser's 3 Admonitions

In addition to the seven vectors, Chickering and Reisser proposed seven key influences and three admonitions related to educationally influential environments. Below are the three admonitions and how they are supported through experiential learning:

Integration of work and learning: Students are more often involved with outside opportunities, including jobs, internships, and volunteering. Higher education institutions need to collaborate with outside partners to ensure the best possible learning environment.

Recognition & respect for individual differences: Students learn in many different ways. Through addressing these differences using other educational methods, such as experiential education, all students can be engaged in their learning.

Acknowledgement of the cyclical nature of learning: Students need to be challenged in order to continue developing. Opportunities such as experiential education enable students to put what they've learned into action, challenging them to apply their knowledge in new ways.
